WHAT IS MICRO-BLADING?

Micro-blading is an innovative method of depositing pigments into the epidermis.
It is done using a very fine blade that impacts colour closer to the surface. The strokes appear crisp and very fine. There is no spilling under the skin just beautiful, realistic, 3D hairstrokes. This method is ideal for anyone looking to enhance and define the look of their brows. Our two Microblading artists are trained to the highest Level (VTCT L4)

We are able to create such a natural looking hair stroke, regardless of the amount of hair present on the client. People suffering from alopecia, trigonometric or any other condition that causes hair loss i.e. over plucking, benefit greatly from this technique. It is also ideal for people who are not happy with their eyebrow shape.

The pigments used in this method have been formulated to match the original eyebrow colour, even if you still have brow hairs it blends into them naturally. The brows will appear darker but this fades significantly over a two week period, therefore it is crucial to have your 6 week top-up as it is difficult to predict how the skin will retain the pigment. A top-up once a year is recommended to retain the shape and pigment colour.

COMMON QUESTIONS

What is the difference between Micro-blading and the digital machine method ?

Micro-blading is a process of implanting pigment into the upper layer of the skin – the epidermis.  This is the layer of skin that is visible to all and is constantly shedding and renewing itself.  Because of the process of cell turnover, the permanent make-up pigments will fade more quickly over time (12-18 months) as apposed to the digital machine method which deposits pigments into the second layer of the skin – the dermis.  The cells of the dermis are more stable than the cells of the epidermis, so the pigment colour stays in place longer,  between (2-3 years)
This is the reason clients and celebrities are loving Epibrow, because they have more freedom to change their brow colour, and shape more sooner than that of the machine method. They also love how crisp and realistic the hair strokes are due to the ultra fine blade used.

Is it Painful?

No. While there is some discomfort felt, it would not be regarded as pain. A topical anaesthetic cream is applied to numb the area. Small little scratches will be felt.

Do you have to remove all of my brow hair first?

A lot of clients hear this a lot, and believe their eyebrow hair will have to be removed first before semi permanent pigment can be applied. This is certainly not true. I always work with the clients existing brow hair to create natural, realistic looking brows.
Clients with alopecia can be assured that although there may not be brow hair present, i can still produce  natural, realistic looking hair strokes using advanced 3d microblading techniques.

How long does the procedure take?

The treatment will take approximately 2 hours. Your technician will analyse your face and discuss the best brow shape that is suitable for you. Your input is essential at this stage as you both agree on the final shape and colour.

How long do the results last?

Between 12 – 18 months, sometimes even longer. This all depends on a few factors, as each client holds pigments longer/shorter than the next client. This is why it is crucial to have your first top up 4-6 weeks after your initial procedure followed by a yearly top up to maintain colour and shape. Another important factor for maintaining optimal results is to make sure you follow the correct aftercare, given to you from your technician.

Here are some of the factors that may effect the longevity of your Epibrow results.

Prolonged exposure to the sun and sunbeds.
Exfoliating the brow area
Recent chemotherapy, radiotherapy, acne treatment. (colour may not retain as well, meaning regular top ups to keep them fresh)
The regeneration of skin cells
Clients age

What can I expect on the day of the treatment?

First of all your features will be analysed and from there your technician will make recommendations based on your current shape, colour and design. Once the design has been agreed the procedure will take place. Some redness may be experienced after the treatment and very mild swelling around the treatment area but your technician will make sure you leave with all the essential aftercare, in order to take great care of your new brows.

How do you choose  the correct eyebrow design and colour?

Your technician has been trained to the highest level in colour mixing and shaping, so will be able to devise a bespoke brow best suited to yourself.

Health & Safety?

Your technician will be trained to the highest level in infection control and first aid. Strict patch tests will always be carried out 48 hrs before treatment along with a fully completed medical record card. No brow procedure will be carried out otherwise. The needles  are single use and disposed of after each client, following strict legislative guidelines.

Ombre Brows

Ombre brow’s is a machine method treatment & is more like a traditional tattoo. It involves the application of thousands of tiny dots of pigment, inserted into the skin, gradually building up a colour and defined shape.

The brow is fuller & more defined or dramatic than with the hairstroke method, gibing the look of pencil or shadow. Top up treatments are generally required every 18 – 24 months.

Hybrid Brows

Hybrid Brows is a combination of microblading and ombré brows. The combination of microbladed hair strokes and a machine powder fill gives a natural looking brow. It’s a bit more defined and filled in than just straight microbladed brows, and less solid & dramatic than the ombre brow. Top up required every 12-18 months.
